Bodycam Footage Reveals Aftermath of Florida Bank Shooting, Two Fatalities Confirmed

Tragic bodycam footage released by law enforcement captured the harrowing moments following a Florida shooting at a Citi office, which resulted in two fatalities.

On Wednesday at around noon, employee panic ensued at the Tampa site as deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) swiftly responded to reports of gunfire within the corporate building.

In a chilling 911 call, a visibly shaken woman alerted authorities that “somebody is shooting” inside the office. The footage then tracked an officer loading his weapon while darting towards the building, as employees fled in fear.

“What does he look like?” inquired one deputy to two fleeing women. “We don’t know. We heard shooting from that way,” one responded, pointing towards the source of the chaos.

Bodycam clips showed the officers nearing the entrance after noticing a crashed vehicle parked outside. As an officer approached, a bystander shouted, “He’s down,” referring to the shooter who had fatally shot a female employee before being confronted by an armed guard.

Newly released police bodycam footage showed the moment officers arrived at the Citi campus in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday after a shooter stormed inside.

After entering the building, the officer reported into his radio, “Shooter is inside, shooter is down.” The frantic evacuation of several employees was also recorded, as many exited with their hands raised at the direction of law enforcement.

As police led employees to a safe area, it was stated that approximately 3,200 people work in the building. The nature of the suspect’s relationship with the victim remains unresolved.

Additional footage that circulated shortly after the incident showed the gunman, described as a tall, bearded man clad in an unzipped sweatshirt, exiting a gray sedan while brandishing a rifle.

The armed security guard stationed at the Citi office engaged the assailant and fatally shot him, police confirmed. Four others sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the ordeal, according to Chief Deputy Frank Losat during a press briefing.

“This is a sad day for everybody involved,” Losat remarked. Sources have indicated that the incident may involve a vendor rather than employees of Citi.

Visuals from the scene depicted paramedics transporting victims on gurneys, including both a man and a woman. Emergency responders and a SWAT team evacuated every room in the building efficiently.

A significant response comprised of 367 HCSO deputies and other specialized units was dispatched to the site.
