Meta Launches Spaces: A Fresh Approach to Collaborating with Your Muse Agent
Meta Unveils “Spaces”: A New Dimension of Collaboration with Muse Agents
In a recent announcement, Meta introduced Muse agents, designed as friendly, helpful digital companions. Following this, the tech giant has revealed “Spaces,” a novel feature aimed at enhancing user interaction with these AI-powered assistants.
Essentially, Spaces function as designated discussion areas centered on specific topics, referred to by Meta as “custom experiences.” Accessible via the sidebar within the Muse interface, these Spaces allow users to focus on various projects by engaging with their Muse agent directly.
For example, if a user wishes to plan a vacation, they would create a dedicated Space for that project. Each time they need assistance, they can simply select that tab. Similarly, users can curate Spaces for diverse tasks such as gathering recipes for an event, tracking holiday gifts, or organizing wedding plans.
As Meta describes, “Describe an idea in chat, and Muse builds a space for you, whether that’s a tracker, a planner, or a project board.”

Moreover, Meta claims that Spaces will seamlessly integrate with third-party applications, keeping users informed about updates without the need for manual checks. This means that information such as concert dates or pricing changes can be automatically reflected within the user’s dedicated Space.
On X, Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta, expressed excitement about the new feature: “Playing around with spaces in Muse lately — tell Muse what you need and it builds it. I’ve made a BBQ game, an event tracker, and a home control dashboard. Excited to see what you build.”
Since their launch, Muse agents have garnered positive feedback, achieving a user base of 10 million in the U.S. and Canada within just two months, as noted by Zuckerberg during an October earnings call.
This latest update marks the second new feature Meta introduced for Muse in a short span of time, following the launch of Muse Voice, which enables users to engage in video chats and issue verbal commands to their agents.
In the competitive landscape of AI assistants, Meta is facing off against other popular digital companions like OpenAI’s Dots and SpaceXAI’s Grokbot, both of which share similar charming, cartoonish avatars.
Editor’s Take
The introduction of Spaces is a significant step for Meta in the evolving realm of AI-driven personal assistants. By enabling users to create focused environments for various tasks, this feature addresses the growing demand for personalized and organized digital experiences. For businesses and developers, the integration with third-party apps opens new opportunities for enhancing user engagement and functionality. Overall, Spaces could reshape how users interact with AI, marrying convenience with creativity.
