Lopez, who went on a random stabbing spree, also injured a 68-year-old man, Tak Kam, during the chaotic episode.

During the incident, footage revealed officers attempting to subdue Lopez with a taser as she wielded two kitchen knives.

Pursuing her with increasingly hostile behavior, Lopez was ultimately shot by police, leading to her apprehension and subsequent medical attention.

At a press conference featuring Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, it was disclosed that Lopez had threatened officers, stating, ‘I’m not dropping anything; I would rather kill both of you.’

‘This was an extraordinarily dangerous situation unfolding in the heart of Times Square, the crossroads of the world,’ Commissioner Tisch remarked, emphasizing the potential for greater chaos.
