Spotify Launches Fresh Finds Forward: Free Studio Time and Support for Artists
Spotify Unveils ‘Fresh Finds Forward’ to Support Emerging Artists
Spotify has announced the launch of a new initiative named Fresh Finds Forward, aimed at empowering artists added to its Fresh Finds playlists starting January 1, 2026. This program is designed to help musicians leverage the exposure gained from these playlists, which can be critical for breaking into the competitive world of music streaming.
Artists participating in the Fresh Finds Forward program will gain access to a wealth of resources over a 12-month period. One standout feature is the provision of free studio time for artists based in the United States at prestigious locations such as Electric Lady Studios in New York City, The Lighthouse at Ocean Way Nashville, and Spotify Studios in Los Angeles.
Beyond studio access, artists will benefit from early access to various Spotify tools and features, priority for partnerships related to tours and music videos, and complimentary subscriptions for 12 months to Landr Studio Pro and Splice’s Creator Plan. Recognizing the emotional toll of pursuing a music career, the program also includes six months of free therapy through BetterHelp.
Unlike Spotify’s earlier Discovery Mode, which offered a promotional royalty rate in exchange for enhanced algorithmic support, the Fresh Finds Forward program maintains the existing royalty rates and is entirely free for artists involved.
Editor’s Take
This initiative marks a significant move by Spotify to foster talent and nurture emerging artists. By providing essential tools and emotional support, Spotify not only enhances its brand but also contributes to the sustainability of artists’ careers in a challenging industry. This could lead to a more diverse musical landscape as artists are given tangible resources to thrive.
